TONY GOES TO THE TOP OF THE CLASS AT ROYAL LAKESIDE AND PHIL ACES

It was an overcast day for our 6 groups who left The Links on their way to Royal Lakeside. Upon arrival, it was obvious that there had been a lot of overnight rain at Royal Lakeside with carts not allowed on the fairway and damp conditions underfoot. There was a good breeze that made conditions testing but no rain.
It was certainly a great day for Tony Cliff. He was neck and neck with Phil Ashton but Tony birdied the last to claim first place. Consolation for Phil was that he had his first hole in one at the 163 yard 12th hole. It was the 4th ace by a Links Golfer this year.
