GREAT DANE RUNS WILD AT EMERALD

The Emerald course came into some criticism the last time we played there mainly because of the state of the greens. It should be said that there has been a huge improvement in the standard of the greens and although there is still sand of some of the putting surfaces, most is confined to the perimeters. It should also be said that the greens were slow. Given another few weeks, I believe they will be in excellent condition.
There were some worried faces on the buses as we were on the way to Emerald with heavy rain on the trip. By the time we arrived the rain had stopped and we had a dry run for our round.
It was a good day for Michael Palleson who won his first Green Jacket with the only round that beat par. His 38 was good enough to beat Russell Blatchford into 2nd place followed by Soren Hansen in 3rd. Unfortunately, Michael had to leave before the presentation.

1st Place Michael Palleson (22) - 38
2nd Place Russell Blatchford (19) - 35
3rd Place Soren Hansen (17) - 34
