RICHARD WINS A 3 WAY TIE AT SILKY OAK

HIDE
It was a quiet day at Silky Oak with 2 late call offs and 2 no shows diminishing our numbers. At least the 2 call offs had the courtesy to inform us that they could not appear but what is galling is the 2 no shows who showed little consideration for the organisers. Once again, the organisers request that players circle Y on the starting sheet if they require transport and N if they have their own transportation.
The last time we played Silky Oak the white tees were set right back which made life difficult for our more mature members. With that in mind, it was decided to play off the more forward yellow tees which turned out to be a popular decision. Fortunately, we were given an early starting time and when the first group finished there were distant rumblings of thunder. By the time the last group finished the thunder was much more frequent along with flashes of lightning. The last group just managed to finish before the heavy rain started.
As for the golf, the first 3 places were decided on count backs with all coming home with 39 points. It was Patrick Harding who triumphed over George Mueller courtesy of a better last 6. Wayne Peppernell was the 3rd member who scored 39 points.
RESULTS
1st Place Richard Harding (23) – 39 c/b
2nd Place George Mueller (17) – 39 c/b
3rd Place Wayne Peppernell (19) - 39
