FLYING SCOTSMAN STEAMS HOME AT ST ANDREWS

It was a small field that took to St Andrews on the 19th. The course itself was very quiet but what was noticeable was the amount of work that was taking place at Green Valley with much heavy machinery in evidence. There was also some maintenance work taking place at St Andrews with a new perimeter being placed on the green on the very scenic 15th hole.
As for the golf, it was Billy Buchanan who took the plaudits with his 37 points being enough to win the Green Jacket. He finished 3 shots ahead of Nick Monticello and Frank McArdle. The journey home was certainly interesting with Songkran being in full flow. What is normally a 45 minute trip took in excess of 2 hours.
