THE IRISH ROVER STRIKES AGAIN AT ROYAL LAKESIDE

It was a unique occasion for our 52 golfers who played Royal Lakeside when we were given a 2 tee start at the splendid location. Originally given an 11.20 tee off time, another bonus bore fruit when we started 30 minutes early. Like its nearby neighbour Bang Pakong Riverside, it is well worth the extra distance to travel to and play this well maintained course with excellent facilities and courteous and knowledgeable staff.
March has been a great month for Colm Lawlor as he added another Green Jacket to his tally. They say that Pancho Gonzales was probably the most famous ever bandit….Colm runs him close. The only difference being that Pancho wore a mask.
Today we were lucky to be graced with a plus 1 and a scratch handicap golfers. Brendon McGovern made a flying visit and returned a score of 2 over par playing off plus 1 whilst Ian Ashendon returned a 2 under for 38 points. Great play.
