FIRST WET DAY OF THE YEAR DOESN’T STOP KELLEHER KILLING IT AT GREEN VALLEY
×
HIDE
It was a dry day when our golfers departed The Links but on the way up to Green Valley you could see the skies darkening. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a heavy downpour which fortunately only lasted for about 15 minutes. The rain and overcast conditions obviously was putting people off the golf and we were pleasantly surprised when we were told it was 1 caddy, 1 cart, 1 golfer. The Green Valley course was pretty quiet and we all got away to an early start. The course was in good condition but because of the heavy overhead conditions, the ball wasn’t flying so well and there was little run on the fairways.
The rain certainly did not deter Andy Kelleher who romped to victory with a tremendous score of 42 points which was a massive 7 points clear of the rest of the field. Andy even managed to wipe the difficult 10th hole but his 4 birdies were quick to negate that.
