AUSTRALIA DAY COMES EARLY FOR GREG

News Picture

The Links took 62 golfers to Pattana on Monday to play Courses A & B. Once again however, we were blighted by call offs with 10 players calling off. It has to be said that the regular players with The Links contacted us to tell us that they were unavailable which is much appreciated. What irks us, and I am sure we are not the only Society to suffer this, is the players who sign up online and do not show. Because of this, the organisers were late in departing The Links. On a positive note however, the Pattaya Academy Professional, Chartpetch Bangpetch (Moss), and the Pattaya starters were first class in helping us to get the groups to their starting positions.
As for the golf, only 2 players broke par. Derek Hutcheson headed Flight A with 38 points and was beaten for the Green Jacket by Flight B winner Greg Smith who carded 39 points. Being Australian, Greg is looking forward to Australia Day which is on Thursday and no doubt will neck a few cold ones to celebrate his victory.
