PATTAVIA MASTERS THE LINKS BAR 2

The Links took 53 golfers to Pattavia with all hoping to master the course with arguably the fastest and trickiest greens on our schedule. Pattavia however was having none of it and with the exception of 2 players, no golfer managed to equal par. The 2 players in question who came in with 36 points were the evergreen Frenchman Francis Goyons and Leicester man Phil Ashton. Phil made his debut for the Links pool team on Monday and proved to be as adept with a putter as he was with a pool cue. It was Phil who donned the Green Jacket courtesy of a better back 9.
In Flight B, (handicap 16+), it was Dave Clewley who led the field with 34 beating George Mueller on count back.
With 14 groups ready to tee off we were hoping to get some of the groups off at the 10th and Pattavia duly obliged in allowing 4 groups to move across to the 10th. With the first 3 groups who started at hole 1 having no groups in front of them, they raced round in 3-1/2 hours.
