MAN UTD SUPERFAN TRIUMPHS AT PATTAVIA

Dave Arataki, the self confessed Manchester United diehard, did today what his football team have not done for a long time – topped the field. Dave was one of only 2 players who broke par but Dave didn’t just break it, he destroyed it with 41 points.
The starter permitted 3 of our groups to start off at hole 10 which was a big help. The course was in excellent condition with the greens getting back to the speed that we are all accustomed to.
The Links took 44 players to Pattavia – it would have been 48 but 4 called off with the dreaded Dehli Belly. One of our regulars, Bobby Watson, played on despite having an uncomfortable day due to some dodgy chicken. His partners said that Bob spent more time running back and forth to the toilet than on the course. Dedication to the game. Well played Bob.
The golfers were split into 2 flights with A Flight being 0-18 and B flight 19+. As mentioned, Dave won the Green Jacket and B Flight with his 41 points which was 6 ahead of runner up Dave Clewley. In A Flight it was a Scottish 1 and 2 with Billy Buchanan heading the Flight with 39 followed by Ian Bell with 35.
