Bangpra is a beautiful golf course and in very good condition. The fairways are well grassed and have dried out enough, for now, to provide some run. The greens are a little slower than usual, causing some uphill putts to fall short at times.

However, it is not an easy course where many players, of all handicap levels, tend to struggle and forty point scores are a rarity.
Playing from the white tees at 6,500 yards sorts out a few shorter hitters, but there is no in-between distances here.

Even though we had not been here for a couple of months, we could only muster up twelve starters for this trip. People away on trips, players returning to their home country, and tiredness are all excuses we can think of to explain the low turnout.

But, the players competed and we had some winners for the day.

Neil Smith was a late entrant to the list and made the most of it with his second win in about two weeks. His score of 33 points isn’t huge, but a pretty good score on this tough course.

Two players scored 32 points apiece and had to be separated by countback.
Simon Niven and Brendan Kane played in the same group and it was Simon who eased out Brendan to take the second place.

The day was mostly overcast but with no threat of rain. It was hot and, again, very little breeze to speak of.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀!! We will play a two person team Ambrose/Scramble at Parichat on July 21. There is a sheet on the board, so sign your team up early.
