Selwyn Yates returned from Australia a week ago, almost exactly three years since his last trip.
His first round back yielded a nice 33 points, which showed him to be in some form.

For the next game, a great score of 39 points, but he lost a countback to miss a spot on the podium. We suggested that a win may be close and, without wasting more time, Selwyn has done just that with a score of 38 points at Royal Lakeside.

Robert Cha continued his consistently good form with another 36 points to take second place in a three way countback.

Two more regular podium inhabitants followed with 36 points each.

Steve Moxey won the countback for third place, which left Mike Ehlert, with another very good score, to hold down the fourth spot.

Needless to say, this course was in the usual top notch condition and, as there were few golfers ahead of us, the starter sent our first group off about twenty minutes early. That three ball finished the round in three and a half hours.

The weather was so different from two days ago, as this day, a nice breeze persisted all day, even getting quite strong at times, very pleasant.

The price paid today was, again, very nice for this good course, and they have returned to giving golfers, who paid full price, a voucher for an even more discounted price for next time here.

Another retuning from Aus. is a long time stalwart, Alan (Rev) Walker, and it was a pleasure for all of his friends to see him pick up the the consolation for โ€˜best back nineโ€™.
