When the big fireman arrived from Victoria, Australia, last month, he had a handicap of #17. That quickly blew out to #19.
Now, after a couple of scores in the 40โ€™s, including a great 43 points today, that handicap has now become #16, much closer to the real thing.

A top knock from Greg left him well clear of the rest of the field of 38 players and winner of โ€˜Bโ€™ flight and the Green Jacket.

Two excellent scores of 38 points came next with Billy Buchanan winning a countback for second spot over a much improved Gang Zong, our only Chinese player.

Ok, his handicap, under the WHS, is #37 but Bryan Barrell needs to put the runs on the board, and he did that well today with a terrific 36 points to grab the fourth place.

One Chinese and one Korean, we are a mixture, Young Min Ko returned to Links after a short time away at home in Korea and has scored a handy 34 points for fifth place.

In the โ€˜Aโ€™ flight, Tony Browne, who is claiming to be single, at least for a while, continued his recent consistent form to score 37 points and the flight win.

But he was not alone on that good score. Keith Peplow and his travel buddy, Mick Fawke, also had 37 points with Keith taking the countback for second place. Both are now headed back to the U.K.

George Mueller had one of his better games to score 36 points to grab fourth place, and Andrew Nolan, a first timer at Links scored 34 points from his #3 handicap to round out the podium.

Once again Pattana management were just superb in their organization and helpfulness.
We asked in advance for a two way start and it was granted without question and, being given the okay to start early, five groups started from each of the A and B nines.

Once again the weather was just about as good as you would want to play golf. No sign of the rains, but they will come sometime.

With no hold-ups on course, all finished in good time, then it was back to Links to savour Joyโ€™s Curried Chicken for an early dinner.
