𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗞𝗦 𝗚𝗢𝗟𝗙 𝗦𝗢𝗖𝗜𝗘𝗧𝗬...𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲…𝗠𝗼𝗻..𝗠𝗮𝗿.𝟮𝟭...𝗦/𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱

After some late inclusions and some late cancels, we had seventeen players make their way to Royal Lakeside.
We were down on our usual numbers, as many golfers went to Hua Hin on a golf trip.
We always write how Royal Lakeside is in wonderful condition, and so it was today, albeit plenty of rain about had restricted carts to the paths.

At about the half way mark, the rains came again, necessitating a twenty minute stop for shelter, but this time no-one abandoned play.

In one of his rare appearances at Links, and playing from a #2 handicap, Richie McGhie defied the difficult back nine conditions to come in with a great score of 38 points for a good win and his third Green Jacket.

Gordon Laviolette started this trip frustrated with his game. Some adjustments started to get things right and, finally, in his last game before heading home to Canada, he has made it to his best placing. 37 points was very good and put him in second spot.

Billy Buchanan was one of the late inclusions and played his usual steady game to have 18 points on each nine for a total of 36 points to win third place on countback.

Richie’s buddy, Ben Hebert, also a low handicapper had 36 points to grab the fourth spot, winning another countback for that place.

Neil Smith lost that countback but had ‘best front nine’ with 21 points, then faded on the second nine.
