The Pros and experts tell us that it is not the amount of practice that we do for our golf, but the quality.
It would seem that Mike Ehlert is taking the lessons and doing quality practice, as his game has improved and his handicap dropping.
Topping the ‘A’ flight here at Burapha with a very good 40 points gets him another Green Jacket for the Month of March.
Lawrie McBride finished second in the flight, back in his comfort zone, with a consistent 37 points.
Rung Paugsin, a guest of Derek Phillips, played with us for the first time and showed that she is a good lady golfer. Rung scored an even 36 points for third spot.
Livio Marrone is a very low handicap #4 and had a solid game to score 35 points to win a countback over another low handicapper, Petur Petursson who, after this round is also a #4.

Darren See has been in town for a few days and played his first round with us, and scored a nice victory in the ‘B’ flight with an excellent 39 points.
Mike Firkin was in his top form to have 37 points for the second spot.
Gordon Laviolette, like Mike Ehlert has learned a couple of things about his swing and is putting that to good use. 36 points, and third place shows improvement.
Dave Clewley’s consistent form this trip continues, and he has fourth place with a winning countback score over Paul Walia at the 35 points mark.

There were two more players on 35 points who missed a placing, Wayne Peppernell and Keith Griffith needed more points on the back nine. Even 19 points wasn’t enough for Keith.

Thirty eight starters out today, including some lady golfers, which we are happy to see at Links, for a change.
Most, if not all players were happy to be allocated the A and B combination, and, as always here, the generous starter gave us a two tee start which made for a quick and easy round.
