𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗞𝗦 𝗚𝗢𝗟𝗙 𝗦𝗢𝗖𝗜𝗘𝗧𝗬...𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗽𝗿𝗮…𝗠𝗼𝗻..𝗠𝗮𝗿.𝟳...𝗦/𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱

We had not visited Bangpra for some months, no reason, it just worked out that way.
So a pleasant surprise awaited as we arrived at the green fees desk when we were able to purchase the special priced vouchers at the counter.

In the past, these had to be paid in advance so, with an all in price of 1250 bht, the day started well.

The course was in very good condition and the greens, well known for being true and quick, lived up to that reputation. There were many three putts reported.
.
However, as good a course as it is, Bangpra is a challenge and, on this day, only one player of our 27 starters, was able to play to handicap or better.

That one player was eighty year old Paul Walia who, having gained one extra shot on his handicap, scored a very impressive 40 points for a great win, a long way in front of the rest.

Perennial second placegetter, Lawrie McBride was in his usual position with 34 points scored.

John Reps was again in the placings with 33 points to take third place on countback over Huw Phillips.
Nigel Henson rounded out the podium with 32 points, taking that spot on countback.

The starter sent the first group off a little early and all were back at Links Bar nice and early for presentations.
Someone forgot to pass on the ‘near pins’ so to make up for it, a Mystery Partner competition was held. The cards were shuffled and two cards were randomly picked. The highest total score was the winner.

𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙨 𝙂𝙤𝙡𝙛 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙩𝙮 is a PSC affiliated, friendly group and welcomes golfers of all levels. We play 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 ,𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲.
