Upon making our courtesy call to Pattaya Country Club to confirm that we have 10 groups for tomorrow, we were told that the course could not accommodate that many groups, no ifs, no buts. Must be high Season.
So, a quick phone call to Burapha Golf Club where we were welcomed with open arms. Then the job of contacting 40 players started.
We were allocated the C+D nines, which the course opened just for us. Those nines were not in their normally top condition and the greens were a bit โfluffyโ but there were no complaints from anyone.
Paul Anderson. in his most recent three games has had scores of 35. 36 and 37, always so near to the top, so it was no surprise when he came out with a big 41 points today, which gave him a good win in โBโ flight, and top score overall. Although he has won before, Paul has never actually worn the Green Jacket. So, at last we have a photo of Paul in green.
Korean buddy, Young Min Ko goes from strength to strength and is now starting to put two nines together. His 39 points was not quite enough for the win but he is getting closer.
John Hughes came visiting and reckons his 37 points is his best score for a long time, it was good for third place.
Mike Firkin was solid again with another 36 points and held off in form Mike Kaps to win fourth place on countback.
In the โAโ flight, Nigel Henson, who rarely puts in a bad game, took the honours in that flight with an excellent 39 points. He might have worn the Green Jacket except for his buddy, Paul, having his terrific 41 points.
We are running out of praise for Petur Petursson. He just keeps on keeping on. Another fine round again, with a score of 37 points from a lower handicap of #6, for second spot.
A newcomer to Links, but not to golf in Thailand, Jeff Calrow, played a solid game, also scoring 37 points but losing to Petur on countback.
Phil Davies and good pal, Paul Gill, played in the same group and both had 34 points, with Phil pipping Gilly for the fourth place on countback.

The weather today was a bit strange with a lot of cloud becoming a darker grey and blocking the sun, although it was still quite hot.
Thank You to Burapha Golf Club for taking us with so little notice and providing us with a good course, and a bonus two tee start, which had all ten groups finish in around four hours.
