NO SHOWS AGAIN SPOIL EASTERN STAR

Once again, no shows spoilt the day for our golfers at Eastern Star which meant rescheduling groups and prize lists. It is even more annoying when the no shows are regular players with us. If the no shows irked the organisers, they did not concern Nigel Henson who stormed in with 39 points to win the Green Jacket from Greg Smith and Wayne Peppernell. Eastern Star would appear to be going through a maintenance spell with the fairways having been scarified. The greens were in reasonable condition although some had a fair amount of sand present. Eastern Star, like many courses is probably suffering from a lack of water and when the water levels get back to normal the course will benefit.
Because the courses are all relatively quiet, we would like to ask all golfers who are making their own way to the courses to arrive fully 30 minutes before the scheduled tee off time as we are pretty much guaranteed early starts.
