NOT SO MUCH A SCRAMBLE FOR BOB AND DARREN – MORE LIKE A WALK IN THE PARK

The Links took 52 golfers to Green Valley for our monthly scramble which was a 2 man event this month. Bob Watson and Darren See were early starters and came in with a gross 68, which included a double bogey on the shortest hole on the course. With a handicap of 6.25 there nett score of 61.75 looked like a winner from early doors. With no one within 5 shots it wasn’t until John Reps and Young Min Ko came in with 63.75 that their lead was challenged. No other team came close to the early leaders and Bob and Darren finished deserved winners.
The course was in excellent greens with fast greens and credit should go the starters who got us all off in time albeit there was a shortage of caddies which saw us doubling up. Green Valley is not the only course that suffers from this with many courses seemingly not having enough caddies.
