The final event of The Links 2022 golf calender was the 2 man scramble at Greenwood A & C courses. The monthly scrambles are proving to be very popular events and Greenwood was no exception with 60 golfers playing in the event. Fortunately we were given a 2 tee start which certainly helped in speeding things up. The course was generally in good condition and the greens were excellent.
As is the norm with the scrambles, it was a very close run event with 1.95 strokes separating the first 6 places. It was Steve Moxey and Selwyn Yates who came out on top with a net score of 64.05 playing off a handicap of 5.95. Runners up were Brendan Kane and Dave Dunne on 64.125. Brendan can claim to have hit the shot of the day when he holed out a 5 iron for an eagle at the par 4 3rd hole on A course. Brendan has just returned to the fairways after a long lay off with a shoulder injury.
The best gross round was 67 by Quinton Murphy and Donald Coley. With Quinton being a plus 1 handicap and Donald playing of 1, there handicap was 0.
