𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐒 𝐆𝐎𝐋𝐅 𝐒𝐎𝐂𝐈𝐄𝐓𝐘…𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫....𝐖𝐞𝐝..𝐌𝐚𝐲.𝟒.. 𝐒/𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝

Twenty nine golfers made the shorter trip to Eastern Star on the newer part of the ‘seven’ motorway.
As we teed off, the day was overcast with a slight breeze which lasted all day and made conditions comfortable.
The course was not quite to the standard we are used to here as some of the fairways were looking a little tired and in need of some repairs. In fact, some were under repair as the were some GUR areas around and some sand on the fairways.
The greens, as usual were in good order and still had the pace.
As another society ahead of us played from the white, longer tees, it was decided that we play white as well.
This course is not normally known for big scores, and the longer tees slowed some down.
The top score of the day came from the very consistent, and good golfer, Jamie Booterbaugh, with just 34 points, but that was enough this time.

Wayne Peppernell is holding on to some form and, with a total of 32 points, took second spot.

Andrew Purdie is a usually a much lower handicap and doesn’t figure in the placings often, but he had his chance here to grab third place, winning a countback on 31 points.

John Chelo does often figure on the podium and, on 31 points, lost the countback to finish in fourth place.

Young Min Ko was again in the mix, being the third player with 31 points, but lost all of the countbacks to hold on to the fifth and final place.
