When you ascend the stairs to the grand atrium clubhouse with the, now dry, fountain centre piece, follow along to the equally grand locker room with the high ceilings and natural sunlight, and then down more stairs to the mustering area, you would think that the golf course would be presented in a similar same vein.
That is just what we got today, as is normally the case here, beautiful fairways and greens that are always quick, true and tricky.
We had 33 players out for this round so we broke them into two flights, with the cut at 15 handicap.

We have written before about Stuart Kidd’s form running from quite cool to very warm, but today he was hot.
A great score of 40 points won the ‘B’ flight and was best score overall, getting him the chance to wear the Green Jacket.

Paul Anderson, in a rare visit to Links had one of the games we know he can produce to score 38 points for second place.

The ever consistent Tony Browne was in third spot with a nice handicap equalling 36 points.

In fourth place was Ron Wilcox who has been playing a lot of golf elsewhere. His score of 35 points seems to indicate that he is learning a lot as he plays a lot.

The ‘A’ flight scores were almost a match with the ‘B’ flight as the winner here was Michel Deletraz with a very handy 39 points.

A winner last week, Mick Fawke carried on with that form to put together 36 points to win a three way countback for second place.

Ben Hebert was in the mix again, finishing third with his 36 points and Mike Ehlert also is becoming a regular on the podium with a fourth placing.

The weather for most of the round looked threatening, with skies getting darker and even some lightning about. However, apart from the last couple of groups copping a light sprinkle, everyone finished dry.
