Eastern Star is not usually a golf course that allows for high stableford scores. So they say!! At our last visit here, two weeks ago, there was a winning score of an amazing 51 points.

This time around another great winning score of 42 points, coming from an in-form John Reps.
In his six games since arriving at Links, John has had some very good scores without getting to number one spot. He has shown that he is a handy golfer so, today, became another to wear the Green Jacket for the first time, winning ‘A’ flight comfortably.

Petur Petursson is returning to form, was he ever out of it? A handicap beating 38 points took him to second place.
‘Consistent’ is the word for Francis Goyons and another fine score of 36 points got him to third spot.
Steve Moxey, fresh from a quick trip to Australia, played well enough first up to grab fourth place with 35 points, taking that position on countback.

Billy Buchanan is playing sparingly these days, but came out ready to win, and he did.
36 points was enough to be number one in the ‘B’ flight.
Phil Davies, after a short lay-off with injury, found some of the old form to take second place with 34 points.
Neil Smith was there again with 31 points for third and Lesley Chow managed fourth spot with just 30 points after winning a countback.

The course is starting to dry out, with lots of yellow starting to appear. The fairways are still good and the greens are hard and fast, so fast that they caught players unawares for the first couple of holes.

The holiday price we paid was quite fair and included a 100 bht drinks voucher.
Joy’s Chicken Curry and Rice went down a treat back at Links after the round.
