Pattavia Century was presented at itโs very best with well grassed fairways and the greens, although not at that well documented speed, were tricky enough for those tackling them for the first time. Some of those first timers found it hard to watch the ball on a missed downhill putt.
Michael Lohse has only played a couple of rounds since his return to Pattaya and was pretty excited to score 38 points, playing from a handicap of just #4. The greens, it seems, didnโt faze him.
Bryan Barrell is one of the first Australiansโ to escape to Pattaya, and played his first game here since March 2020. Ironically, that game was also at Pattavia.
His high handicap is sometimes deceiving, as he has the ability to produce a good score at times, as witnessed by a Green Jacket in an old photo. Today was one of those times and a score of 37 points gave Bryan the second placing.
John Reps is a newcomer to Pattaya and to Links Golf. Playing his first ever round with us, he showed that he is a good player from a handicap of #14. John won all the countbacks on 36 points to take third spot.
Jamie Booterbaugh has been a regular visitor for many years and has already been here for a couple of weeks. His scores are usually consistent enough to have him around the top of the leaderboard. Fourth place today with 36 points.
Chris Walsh, in just his second game back, and fresh from his 41 points last outing, kept that good form going with another 36 points to land the fifth and final spot on the podium.

It is heartening to witness the sudden turnaround in player numbers, as many have quickly returned to Pattaya as soon as they were able.
After a couple of late scratchingโs today, eighteen players took to the fairways at Pattavia.
Happily, we already know of more of our golfers coming to back Thailand in the next days and weeks.
Although Pattaya had another of those quick afternoon showers, players at Pattavia stayed dry and our two buses arrived back to Links around 4 pm, ready for presentations.
